PURPOSE AND MISSION

Journal for Quality Perspectives in Knowledge Acquisition (JQPKA) is a double-blind, peer-reviewed publication under the auspices of ASQ’s Education Division, the Global Voice of Quality in education. The purpose of the Journal is to engage an expansive, diverse education community in a discussion of significant topics related to improving quality and identifying best practices in education and workforce development, as well as contributing to the literature specific to quality enhancements in the multifaceted dimensions of education and training. The Journal serves a triumvirate of diverse educational research disciplines, including higher education across fields such as business, medicine, science, law, among others. Articles that are research-intensive and/or case-study focused are welcome, regardless of methodological preference: quantitative, qualitative or mixed method.

To provide an open forum for researchers in all fields to access and contribute to quality research in education across all disciplines.

The ASQ Education Division is gratified to publish the third issue of the
Journal for Quality Perspectives in Knowledge Acquisition and to disseminate critical
information regarding quality tools and principles that embrace higher education and workforce
development. The quality initiatives discussed in these articles represent best practices in diverse fields and can be extrapolated within myriad organizational environments, from academe and
health care to contemporary business, among others.

(Volume 10 Number 2)

The ASQ Education Division is proud to publish the second issue of the Journal
for Quality Perspectives in Knowledge Acquisition. This special themed issue features Profiles in
Leadership, written from a variety of diverse perspectives that capture the essence of leadership
from the theoretical to the pragmatic, from higher education and academia to business
and healthcare. The authors delve deeply into the facets of their individual leadership styles and
relate the experiences and knowledge base from which they have learned to become leaders,
as well as discuss the journeys they continue to pursue.

(Volume 10 Number 1)

This publication represents the inaugural issue of the Journal for Quality
Perspectives in Knowledge Acquisition. This is a themed issue, focused on improvement science
and the various ways in which the theoretical application of this concept within the teacher
preparation curricula at the California State University system has transformed education via
quality tools, reduced teacher attrition, and enhanced opportunities for student learning.
